ICCA CODE OF ETHICS

At the Institute of Certified Credit Analysts, we are committed to promoting ethical conduct and professionalism in the credit analysis profession. We believe that maintaining high standards of integrity and ethics is essential to building trust with clients, employers, and other stakeholders, and to the long-term success of the profession.

That’s why we have developed a code of ethics that outlines the standards of behavior and professional conduct that we expect from our members. This code of ethics covers areas such as confidentiality, objectivity, competence, and integrity, and provides a framework for ethical decision-making in the context of credit analysis.

As a member of the Institute of Certified Credit Analysts, I pledge to:

  • Uphold the highest standards of professional conduct and ethical behavior in my work as a credit analyst.
  • Conduct myself with integrity and honesty, and avoid conflicts of interest that could compromise my objectivity.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of confidential and proprietary information obtained in the course of my work, and use such information only for legitimate purposes.
  • Refrain from engaging in any activities that could result in the perception or appearance of impropriety or conflict of interest.
  • Provide objective and unbiased analysis, opinions, and recommendations to the best of my abilities, and avoid any conduct that could be perceived as favoritism or bias.
  • Avoid engaging in any activities that could damage the reputation of the Institute of Certified Credit Analysts or the credit analysis profession.
  • Commit to ongoing professional development and continuing education to enhance my skills and knowledge in credit analysis.
  • Respect the rights, dignity, and privacy of individuals and organizations that are the subject of my credit analysis work.
  • Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards governing the credit analysis profession.
  • Report any suspected unethical or illegal activities to the appropriate authorities, and cooperate fully with any investigations into such activities.
  • By adhering to this code of ethics, I pledge to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and ethical behavior in the field of credit analysis, and to promote the integrity and reputation of the Institute of Certified Credit Analysts.
